"The Brick Walls aren’t there to keep us out, the brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want something."

What is this community, anyway?

Strength and Conditioning for Everyone
At Brick, we approach training from a functional perspective that enhances physical capabilities and mitigates injury. Our holistic methods boast a regimen of strength, speed, power, agility, flexibility and mobility in each workout. The experience is inclusive and challenging to meet your individual needs while addressing universal goals that translate to any sport or lifestyle.
I started working at Brick in December of 2021. Since working there twice a week for 1:1 sessions, I have gotten noticeably stronger and more resilient and become a better, faster and more efficient runner. They are so in tune with my body and my goals and put so much thought into my programming to prepare me for the tasks ahead while also prioritizing my health. I have been injury free while pursuing my potential! I want to note that I am 47, and have been running for almost 25 years, and this is the best I have felt and performed in all that time! The trainers work with several of the athletes I coach at Team Pace of Me and every single one of them benefits from the professional guidance and support they receive. We are all so fortunate to have this resource in our community! I cannot recommend Brick enough!

A Special Place for Runners
For runners, incorporating strength training that targets various planes and muscle groups is crucial to achieving optimal performance and preventing injuries. Running primarily involves forward motion in the sagittal plane that can lead to muscle imbalances and limited functional capacity. We strive to help runners develop a well-rounded program for strength and stability for improved efficiency and reduced risk of common overuse injuries.

FAQ
I’m an athlete, can Brick help?
Yes. Classes and private sessions are designed by CSCS, NSCA professionals. NSCA has been pioneering the industry through sound academics, science-based research, and strength and conditioning coaching. The important components of physical fitness are incorporated into programming to improve mobility, strength, agility and power to help with performance in your sport. While the classes aren’t sport specific, the generalized components will help you improve the qualities you need universally.
I’m not an athlete, can Brick help?
Yes. There is an athlete within all of us and the same scientific principles apply for our outdoor adventurers, the gardening we love to do in spring, the casual round of golf with friends, or keeping up with kids in the backyard. We help you become strong in the gym, so you can do the activities you love outside of the gym.
Is there a cancellation policy?
Memberships can be canceled at any time. We ask that personal training and small group sessions be canceled 24 hours in advance, and classes be canceled 2 hours prior to the session.
Do I need to bring anything to class?
We offer a free towel service and have a water fountain/water bottle filler available. Mats are provided for yoga classes at no additional charge. If you have a specialized mat you’d like to bring, please do!
Do you offer nutrition services?
We partner with Fuel NC for all nutrition needs. Their foundation is built on teaching sustainable practices for a lifetime, not just a few months. They will help empower you to make foods fun and satisfying while also making choices that improve labs, feel stronger and have more energy throughout the day. Areas of expertise include: Sports nutrition, diabetes and pediatric nutrition. They accept insurance.
For those interested in pairing strength and conditioning with nutrition we offer a “Getting Started Package.” Inquire via our contact page.
Do I need a membership?
No. Drop-in options are available for everyone. If you’re in from out of town, or just stopping by for a workout, feel free to join us.
